dion chandler director graduating with distinction from the blue mountains international hotel management school in leura, nsw, australia in 1999 dion set out to gain a total operational knowledge in all hotel departments in medium to large scale high end hotels. you name it and he did it... from sales and marketing, housekeeping, maintenance, finance, human resources, night audit, food and beverage, revenue and front office management. In 2002, he then left to gain international experience and ended up working with the firmdale group of luxury boutique hotels in central london. from then on he was hooked on the boutique concept because as he describes it "they are living, breathing places. They have character and personality created by the owners and exhibited by their staff" In 2006, he returned to sydney where he became the general manager of the establishment hotel is now calling melbourne home managing the Adelphi Hotel and Spa. nixon director matthew nixon too had a passion for hospitality from an early age. graduating from cornell university's school of hotel management in new york, usa, he then went on to gain operations experience with intercontinenal, starwood and stamford hotels & resorts. from there he found his calling in marketing and gained invaluable experience in e-commerce with wyndham hotels worldwide & sta travel in texas. following that, matthew moved back to new york with starwood hotels & resorts where he worked in interactive marketing and global hotel branding. matt has recently moved back to australia and is now residing in sydney and has joined forces with dion to create envirotels.
